Orpha Josephine Uveness, 71, died March 2, 1988, at the Park Avenue Apartments in Madison, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., March 7, 1988, from the Lynner Funeral Home Chapel of Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Jeff Swanson of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota officiating. Organist was Minnie Hermanson. Vocal duet was by Mrs. Arvid Rikke and Mrs. Frank Johnson. Jr. "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Near The Cross" Congregational Hymn: "Children of the Heavenly Father" Casket Bearers were Milford Flaa, Brent Hassel, James Haukos, Cecil Pelton, Jamie Peterson and Allen Toftness. A memorial service was held at the Park Avenue Apartments at Madison on Sunday, March 6, 1988, with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. Final Resting Place: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Boyd, Minnesota. Orpha Josephine Uveness was born in Boyd on March 5, 1916, to Ole and Josephine (Toftness) Uveness. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd. Orpha attended country school in District No. 17. She worked as a housekeeper in the Boyd area until 1980 when she moved to the Park Avenue Apartments in Madison. Orpha will be remembered for always having a smile on her face. Orpha is survived by one sister, Verna Uveness of Madison. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Omar.
