(Orda) Hazel Fadness was born January 28, 1919, at Hazel Run, Minnesota, to parents Henry H. and Matilda (Imes) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Hazel and Reuben A. Fadness were united in marriage at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church in June of 1950. They were the parents of a son, David. Reuben and Hazel farmed east of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Hazel was a bookkeeper at the Hazel Run Produce and Grain Elevator. She also was the local telephone operator. She played for the Hazel Run Men's Chorus and was a member of the church choir. Hazel served as treasurer of the Bergen Ladies Aid for many years. She was a longtime member of Homemaker's Club and an avid "pinochle player." Hazel remained on the farm after the death of Reuben in 1974, until 1992. At that time she moved into an apartment in Montevideo, Minnesota. She was living at Luther Haven (since November of 2002) where she passed away on Monday, January 31, 2005, at the age of 86 years and 3 days. She is survived by her son David (and Genelle) Fadness of Woodbury, Minnesota, and one sister.
