Ora Oleda Soppeland was born on September 25, 1910, in Lac qui Parle County, the daughter of Otto and Lena (Pederson) Soppeland. She attended Clarkfield School. She was united in marriage to Alfred Trandahl on December 21, 1932. After their marriage, they farmed in Yellow Medicine County where she lived until the time of her death. There were two things that were primary in Ora's life, her faith in her Heavenly Father and being surrounded by members of her beloved family. Ora loved crocheting, sewing, baking, and a specialty to her was making quilts. She was active in ladies aid and taught Sunday School. Ora worked for ten years at the Weiner Egg Plant and later at the Clarkfield Nursing Home, part time. Ora passed away Thursday morning, December 17, 1992, at home at the age of 82. Survivors are her husband, Alfred of Clarkfield, daughters, Lois Heule of Minneapolis, Minnesota, DeLight and her husband, Denny Brookins of Alexandria, Minnesota, Sharolyn and her husband, LeRoy DeRosier, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sons, Donald and his wife Deloris Trandahl of Medford, New Jersey, Adrian Trandahl of Minneapolis, Minnesota, David and his wife Pauline Trandahl of Alexandria, Minnesota; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; and sisters, Elmira Liermann and LeVina Howley, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Juel, Hendrick, Clair and Carold.
