Oliver Alvin Solberg was born in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on October 16, 1900, to K.K. and Sophia (Swenson) Solberg. Here he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Here he also attended the local schools and grew to manhood. He served his country during World War II and after his discharge he returned to Clarkfield. He left there after the loss of both parents and moved to Milaca, Minnesota, where he had various employment. He passed away on December 8, 1972, at Milaca, at the age of 72 years. He is survived by three sisters and one brother, namely: Mirl C. Solberg of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Amy (Mrs. J.E. Slatta) of Hillsboro, Oregon, Eleanor (Mrs. R.B. Caswell) of Lomita, California, and Arda (Mrs. Richard F. Finch) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
