Oliver Martinson was born May 25, 1897, to Magnus and Johanna (Hollo) Martinson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He lived all his life on the home farm. He was married to Clara Ellingson of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, on December 10, 1919. To this union were born five children. He is survived by his wife, Clara; three daughters: Olivine, Mrs. Clarence Haroldson, Eileen, Mrs. Ernest Brovold of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Doris, Mrs. Clinton Brovold of Granite Falls, Minnesota; two sons: Russell of Syracuse, Nebraska, and John of Marshall, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Albert of Cottonwood, Minnesota; two sisters, Minnie Lund of Seattle, Washington and Emma Rorvig of Nestby, Montana; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
