Obituary

Mrs. Olive (Lura) Hanson was born on June 9, 1873, at Chicago, Illinois, to Knute and Bertha (Larson) Lura. At the age of one, she with her family moved to McCallsburg, Story County, Iowa, where she received her education. On April 10, 1895, she was united in marriage to Milton C. Hanson. Five children were born to this union, namely, Homer, Clifford, Millard, Lola and Burdell. In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson and their family moved to Minnesota where they homesteaded the farm on which she resided until her death. On September 6, 1961, she passed away at the Clarkfield Nursing Home after about a months residence. She reached the age of 88 years. She was patient and left many precious memories with her loved ones. Her husband, son, Millard, daughter, Lola, her parents and five brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Surviving her are three sons: Homer and Clifford of Boyd, and Burdell, with whom she has made her home since the death of her husband in 1952; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Vallem of McCallsburg, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha Nessa of Lake Mills, Iowa; three brothers, Carl Lura of Zering, Iowa, Peter of Ames, Iowa, and Arthur of Marshalltown, Iowa; two grandsons and three great grandchildren; besides a host of other friends and relatives.
