Mrs. Olina (Langseth) Haugen was born in Nordfjord, Norway on May 15, 1869, to parents Ole and Elizabeth Langseth. She passed away Sunday morning, August 14, 1955, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, where everything that loving hands could do for her was done. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Haugen came to the United States in the spring of 1888, coming to the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. O. Hatiedal at Benson, Minnesota, where she made her home. She spent a number of years working at the Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, before her marriage. On March 8, 1899, she was united in marriage to Iver Haugen of Friendship Township, residing there until 1926 when they moved to Clarkfield, where they have made their home since. In 1949 they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. To this union two daughters were born, Ida (Mrs. Oswald Haaland) of Clarkfield and Myrtle, at home. Surviving her is her husband, two daughters and son-in-law, Oswald Haaland, who together with several nieces and nephews deeply mourn her passing. Her parents, two sisters and three brothers and grandson, Robert Haaland preceded her in death. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
