Mrs. Oscar (Olga) Martinson was born in Yellow Medicine County on December 22, 1896, to the parents Bernt and Oline (Eidahl) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On May 1, 1926, Olga was united in marriage to Oscar Martinson. She was a homemaker who also kept busy with other jobs including cafe cook, poultry processing and helping to care for others. Olga was a member of the Boyd Senior Citizens who enjoyed flower gardening and bingo. On Monday, June 18, 1990, at the age of 93, Olga passed away at the Johnson Memorial Nursing Home of Dawson, Minnesota, where she had been a resident for several years. Olga is survived by her two sons, Duane of Royal, Iowa, and Harlan of Boyd, Minnesota; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Tillman Anderson of Cottonwood, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding Olga in death were her parents; her husband, Oscar, in April of 1957; eight brothers, Alfred, Bennie, Johnny, Hank, Martin, Elmer, Gifford and Gustaf who died in infancy; and four sisters, Elma, Millie, Hilda and Alma who died in infancy.
