Ole P. Rekkedahl passed away at his home in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on Friday morning, April 13, 1956, after an illness of two weeks. He had attained the age of 83 years and seven months. He was born in Norway, September 15, 1872, baptized and confirmed in his native land. He came to America in May of 1892 and established residence in the Cottonwood vicinity for seven years. On December 12, 1899, he was united in marriage to Anne Pearson Olson and moved to Tyro Township, where they lived for nine years, then moving to their present home in Swede Prairie Township where he lived until his death. To this union seven children were born: Mrs. Alvida Strand, Edith Rekkedahl, Mrs. Myrtie Haaland, Mrs. Orda Warner, Orvin, Harvey and Arby Rekkedahl. There are also two foster sons, Selmer and Arthur Olson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, two daughters and one son: Mrs. Alvida Strand, Edith and Orrin. He was an active member of Israel Lutheran Church for several years, member of the school board and an active worker in several community affairs. Surviving are 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother and several nieces and nephews in Norway. IN MEMORY OF OLE P.
