Ole Norgaard was born in Ringerike, Norway, January 16, 1863, the son of Anders and Berge Knestaug. He came to the United States as a young man in 1883 and worked on farms near Hanley Falls, Minnesota. In 1892 he settled on a farm in Friendship Township where he had made his home continuously until his death. On March 4, 1904, he was united in marriage to Anne G. Odden from Selhord, Telemarken, Norway, the ceremony taking place at Granite Falls. Mr. Norgaard was a highly respected citizen in his community, holding a township office for many years, and was also elected to the board of directors of the Community Memorial Hospital a position which he also held for many years. During much of the 65 years of his residence in the Hazel Run community, Mr. Norgaard served as treasurer of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church, and during the last year he was a member of the deacon board. He died October 8, 1950, at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Norgaard is his only survivor in this country.
