Obituary

Ole T. Moe died Wednesday, July 26th, 1950, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 59 years. Death was the result of a construction scaffolding accident, Monday of the prior week, causing a spinal injury. Ole Thorstenson Moe, son of Tosten Johnson and Ranaug Knutsdotter, was born in Flaa, Hallingdahl, Norway, on December 23rd, 1890. He was baptized and confirmed in Flaa Church. In the year 1910 he immigrated to America at the age of 19. He settled at Lake Mills, Iowa, as a carpenter. On the 13th day of August, 1913, he was united in marriage to Andrena Thompson. In 1919 they came to Minnesota, settling down southwest of Clarkfield, choosing farming as their occupation. In 1942 they moved to Clarkfield where Mr. Moe again continued his work as a carpenter. This union was blessed with six children: Gilma who died in infancy, Evelyn (Mrs. Emil Sievers) of Boyd, Minnesota, Marvin of Montevideo, Minnesota, Telford of Wood Lake, Minnesota, Elnora (Mrs. Leonard Lange) of Boyd, Minnesota, and Arlen who resides at home. Also surviving are two daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; one brother and two sisters in Norway; one brother, Narve, of Pekin, North Dakota; one sister, Carrie (Mrs. Elmer Wangen) of Hurdsfield, North Dakota; and nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding Mr. Moe in death are his wife, who passed away March 25th, 1946, his parents, one daughter, one brother and one sister. Blessed be his memory.
