Obituary

Ole J. Heimark, fourth eldest child of pioneer Lisbon parents, Jacob and Christine (Storebo) Heimark, was born on the present Heimark homestead on September 10, 1883. He died at 5:30 p.m. on February 10, 1971, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 87 years. In spite of constant vigil, kind and loving care from Edna and Julia at home, his illness worsened so that he had to be hospitalized in mid-summer, first at Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis and then later transferred to the Clarkfield Hospital and finally to the Clarkfield Care Center where despite medical technololgy and kind nursing care, he grew ever weaker and died from the ravages of cancer on February 10, 1971. Ole was baptized on October 10, 1883, by the Rev. Ole Lokensgaard and at the age of 16 was confirmed by the Rev. Halvor Fjeldstad in the Bergen Church. On June 28, 1916, he was married to Edna Aanes also of Lisbon Township, who survives him as do their three sons, namely: Jacob of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Edward of Ardmore, Pennsylvania and Marden of Cleveland, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Clarence J. Heimark of Granite Falls, Minnesota; two sisters: Mrs. Carrie Berg of Bemidji, Minnesota, and Bessie (Mrs. Archie Anderson) of Hopkins, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Andrew, Carl, John, Julius and Henry; four sisters: Cecelia Ellingson, Ann Linstadt, Josehine Black and an infant sister, Clara. He was laid to rest in the Bergen Cemetery family plot among his parents, his five brothers and four sisters. Ole was a kind and true neighbor. A good and faithful man has gone to meet his maker. Blessed be his memory. IN MEMORY OF OLE J.
