Olaf A. Wolsund was born on February 20, 1886, in Sandsvare, Norway, to parents Anton and Anna Wolsund. He was baptized and confirmed into the Luthean faith at Efterlot Church in Norway. At the age of 17, he came to the G. Wilson home in the Hazel Run community and worked on farms in this area for several years. After working in the forests of Montana, he returned to the Hazel Run vicinity. On December 16, 1911, he was united in marriage to Helen Maltrud. To this union, one daughter, Margaret, was born. Since his marriage he was engaged in farming in Stony Run Township, where he was a member of the Bergen Lutheran Church and served on the Board of Deacons for several years. In early October, he was taken to the Clarkfield Community Hospital where he passed away on February 20, 1968, his 83rd birthday. Surviving him are his wife, Helen; daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Charles Rachie); granddaughter, Carolyn; and one brother, Kristian in Norway. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters. In Memory Of OLAF A.
