Olaf Sorenson, 88, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died April 2, 1988, at the Clarkfield Care Center. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 1988, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Trelstad officiating. Organist was Karen Donner and Belinda Field was soloist. Congregational Hymns: "Beautiful Savior" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" Casket Bearers were Roger Sorum, Allen Cornelius, Chester Cornelius, Bruce Anderson, Arvid Severson, Leslie Vien all of Clarkfield. Final Resting Place: Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Olaf was born July 21, 1899, in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Isaac and Anne Marie (Sorum) Sorenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesoa. He was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. On January 20, 1938, he married Evelyn Aakvik. The last 20 years before retiring he was employed by the Yellow Medicine County Highway Department. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, two sons Dennis and his wife Marilyn of Valdosta, Georgia, and Larry and his wife Judy of Clarkfield, six grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews.
