Olaf Hanson was born December 29, 1893, in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Lorena (Briggs) Hanson. He moved to Clarkfield with his father in 1936, where he resided until his death. He suffered a heart attack and passed away early Tuesday morning, May 22, 1951, at his Clarkfield home, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 22 days. Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Clarence, Walter and Ancel of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Roger of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Elva (Mrs. Clarence Hoiland) of Clarkfield, Ella (Mrs. P.T. Anderson) of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Mrs. Mary Foss of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Mabel (Mrs. John Skogen) of Montevideo, Minnesota; as well as a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
