Obert J. Olson was born on September 16, 1923, in Boyd, Minnesota, to Anton and Mabel (Haakenson) Olson. On September 8, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lois Swenson. They lived their entire married life on a farm southwest of Boyd. Obert farmed most of his life except for six years he worked at the Farmers Elevator in Boyd. He devoted is whole life to music. Mr. Olson passed away September 23, 1977, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital after a lingering illness at the age of 53 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Survivors are his wife, Lois; five children: JoAnne (Mrs. Jerome Woelfel) of Seaforth, Minnesota, Karen (Mrs. LeRoy Schuelke) of Boyd, Julie, Scott and Tim at home; one grandson, Damian; one sister, Minnie (Mrs. Byron Kjos) of Moorhead; two nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
