Obert Elton Hanson, 65, of Boyd, Minnesota, died February 14, 1984, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota. Mr. Hanson was born March 18, 1918, to parents Emil and Clara (Olson) Hanson of Boyd. He was baptized April 28, 1918, and confirmed December 6, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Boyd. He graduated from Boyd High School in 1936 and attended St. Cloud College for two years. Obert served in the U.S. Army for four years, 27 months of which were in the South Pacific theatre. Obert was a barber and later served for about nine years as Clerk of Court for Lac qui Parle County. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Boyd, the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by one brother, Sanford Hanson of Madison, Minnesota and two sisters, Mabel Hanson, Boyd, Minnesota and Evelyn Eames, Shakopee, Minnesota. Preceding him in death were his parents.
