Nuel Omar Dotseth was born April 16, 1914, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Oscar and Susie Dotseth. He was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County. He received his elementary education in the rural school and graduated from the University of Agriculture, Morris, Minnesota, and spent many years working in Chicago, Illinois. He spent four and one-half years in the service of his country in World War II. On July 1, 1954, he and Jorena Alness were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo, Minnesota, by Pastor Erickson. He passed away following surgery on April 6, 1983, at Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife; one son, Tom Williams and wife Jane; three grandchildren; two brothers, Owen of Clarkfield and Oscar of Anoka, Minnesota; and five sisters: Evalyn (Mrs. Murl) Isaacs, Irma (Mrs. Larry) Lamkin, Esther (Mrs. Ray) Barrett, Carol Taylor, and Wanda (Mrs. Cliff) Remmen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
