Obituary

Norman (Normie) O. Knudson (April 2, 1933 ~ February 19, 2010) Norman (Normie) Ogden Knudson, age 76, of Cottonwood, Minnesota, died peacefully on February 19, 2010, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota, surrounded by his family, after a two year battle with cancer. Norman was born April 2, 1933, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to Bergitta (Grande) and Theodore Knudson. He was baptized and confirmed at Silo Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Norman graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1951. He married Barbara Rowell in 1967. Norman lived and farmed on the Knudson family farm until 1990. In addition to farming he spent years as a carpet layer, which allowed him to meet people far and wide. He loved to take the scenic routes and enjoyed meeting and connecting with people wherever he went. His interests included bowling, golfing, and deer hunting with friends, and enjoying good food, drink and conversation. He enjoyed finding the connections with those he met. If he couldn't find a connection, he made a new one. He rarely forgot a face and rarely a name. He was always in search of the perfect watermelon and a good bargain; was a notorious storyteller; had a good sense of humor and a tender heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Kay Knudson. He is survived by his sisters Geneva Wunderlich of Weyauwega, Wisconsin, and Evangeline Kraft of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and his four daughters: Dawn (Tom) Bahn of Cottonwood, Norma Jo Knudson of Waconia, Minnesota, Laura (Lance) Kosen of Cottonwood, and Linda (Rick) Pesch of Taunton, Minnesota. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher Lee Bahn and fiance Emily Turk of Milan, Michigan, Jeremy Justin Bahn, Shane Montgomery Kosen, Nicholas Jay Kosen, all of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Tess Knudson Servin and Kiefer Knudson Servin of Waconia, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, friends, and his special buddies Boomer, Calvert, and Rudy. Blessed be his memory. In Loving Memory of Norman O.
