Obituary

Norman Peter Hagen was born February 7, 1886, in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to P.O. and Kari (Nelson) Hagen, parents of seven. In June 1912, he was united in marriage to Nellie Halverson. This union was blessed with a son, Noran of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a daughter, Cleo (Mrs. Dave Edwins) of Minneapolis. Mr. Hagen lived in Stony Run Township all his life until three years ago last spring when he and his wife moved to Granite Falls. He had resided at the Manor the last couple of years, walking distance for Mrs. Hagen from their home. Norman was active in his township having served as president of the Stony Run Light and Power Company. He was an active 4-H club worker, a member of the Minnesota Safety Council and a member of the school board for many years. He passed away on Saturday, December 16, 1967, at the Granite Falls Hospital, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife, Nellie; his daughter and son; three grandchildren: Mrs. Katherine Schumm of Rantoul, Illinois, William Peter Edwins and James Hagen Edwins, both of Minneapolis; one brother, Oscar Hagen of Hazel Run; two sisters: Mrs. Cora Fjeldstad of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Rosie Eid of Montevideo.
