Obituary

Noah Pochardt, 97, died March 6, 1988, at the Luther Haven Nursing Home of Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 1988, from Redeemer Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota, with Pastor Charles Simmons officiating. Organist was Norma Streich and congregational hymns were sung. Casket Bearers were Larry Bendix, Marshall Herfindahl, Karl Johnson, Robert Kolkman, Dewey, Keith and Randy Pyle and Daniel Schmid. Final Resting Place: Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Island Lake Township, Lyon County, Minnesota Noah was born to Albert and Albertine (Bohn) Pochardt January 21, 1891, on a farm northwest of Russell in Lyon County, Minnesota. He was baptized February 15, 1891, and confirmed on April 16, 1905, at the Zion Lutheran Church. He attended District 61 rural school and spent most of his life farming. On December 24, 1919, he was married to Ida Bohlman. To this union six children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida in 1941; one daughter, Elsie; two sons Albert and Carl; one great grandson; three brothers; and one sister. Noah is survived by his son Arthur of Lewiston, Idaho; two daughters, Sarah Pyle of Montevideo and Ida (Mrs. Harvey) Bendix of Granite Falls, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
