Obituary

Mrs. Nettie Pesek, daughter of Oscar and Anna (Broughton) Stensrud, was born August 18, 1902, in Lyon County, Minnesota, and passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on February 2, 1969, at 6:15 a.m. at the age of 66 years. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Lucas Lutheran Church. On August 19, 1920, she was united in marriage to Sam Kompelien by the Rev. Otterstad. To this union two children were born: Raymond of Hanley Falls and Virginia (Mrs. Robert Isaackson) of Cottonwood. Her husband passed away in March, 1924. In 1925 she graduated from the Fargo Beauty School in Fargo, North Dakota. June 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to John Vernon Kelly at the Presbyterian Church at Cottonwood by Rev. Orcutt. To this union one daughter was born, Georgia (Mrs. Tomas Idso) of Cottonwood. Her husband passed away in March, 1947. On February 5, 1957, she was united in marriage to Albert Pesek at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall by Father Neudecker. They lived most of their married life on a farm in Burton Township, Yellow Medicine County, except for a short time when they resided in Cottonwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Albert of Taunton; her son Raymond of Hanley Falls; two daughters: Virginia (Mrs. Robert Isaackson) of Cottonwood and Georgia (Mrs. Tomas Idso) of Cottonwood; two step sons: Miloyd Pesek of Taunton and Keith Kelly of Sioux City, Iowa; five step daughters: Vivian (Mrs. George Koelz) of Willmar, Delma (Mrs. Clarence Steele) of Spicer, Helen Kelly of St. Paul, Marion (Mrs. Ralph Leydon) of Columbia, Missouri, and Enid (Mrs. Ivan Sechrist) of St. Paul; four brothers: John Stensrud of Cottonwood, Carl Stensrud of Clarkfield, Orvin Stensrud of Wood Lake, Marvin Stensrud of Minneota; one sister, Maybelle Stensrud of Phoenix Arizona; nineteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; along with a host of relatives and friends.
