Nels P. Nelson was born March 28, 1882, in Minnesota, the son of Peter and Helga (Johnson) Nelson and lived most of his life on the home farm in Swede Prairie Township. After the death of his sister, Junina, in 1956, Nels left the farm and resided at the Marshall Convalescent home. Nels was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and showed much interest in the work of his church and community. He became seriously ill May 15, 1963 and was transferred to the Willmar Hospital on May 18th, where he remained until his death. Mr. Nelson passed away May, 1963, at the age of 81 years. Nels is the last survivor of his family. His parents, one brother, Andrew, and four sisters: Hannah, Christine, Anna and Junina, all preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF NELS P.
