(Olson) Knutson
May 30, 1897 – August 10, 1959
Nellie Mable (Olson) Knutson was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota, May 30, 1897, the daughter of Solomon and Emma (Olson) Olson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at Clarkfield and confirmed on November 19, 1911, by Rev. C.A. Larson at the Swede Home Church and remained a lifelong member. On January 15, 1916, she was united in marriage to Carl Knutson. Five children were born to this union: Wallace of Pierre, South Dakota, Leona (Mrs. Clifford Anderson) of Clarkfield, Alice (Mrs. Clarence Christianson) of Cottonwood, Gladys (Mrs. Juell Oakland) of Clarkfield, and Marvin of Minneapolis. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid and worked with the Sunday School for several years. Mrs. Knutson departed from this life on August 30, 1963, at the age of 66 years, the result of an automobile accident in Yellow Medicine County. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away August 10, 1959; a sister, Mary (Mrs. Chris Peterson) in January of 1959; one brother, Richard Oleson, of Waukegan, Illinois; and one grandson. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Olson of Clarkfield; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Her kindness and willingness to help others were among her outstanding traits. IN MEMORY OF MRS. NELLIE M.
