IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Myrtle Manola
Lynner
May 2, 1896 – October 15, 1974
Myrtle Manola Ecklund was born May 2, 1896, to John Alfred and Bertha Marie (Mork) Ecklund in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Later, she graduated from the St. Peter High School and in 1918 received her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College with a double major in mathematics and language. She also took a course at the Gustavus Academy, a business college. Myrtle taught school in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and Grand Rapids, Minnesota, before coming to Clarkfield, Minnesota. On August 16, 1922, she and Ingval Lynner, a young cashier at the Clarkfield State Bank, were married. She continued to teach for six years. A son, Robert Ecklund, was born to them in the fall of 1928. Robert graduated from St. Olaf college and the University of Minnesota, Medical School, specializing in internal medicine. He was a navy officer doctor for two years in Washington D. C. He married Shirley M. Johnson and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Lynner was active in school activities, substitute teaching, Sunday School teaching, and later helped organize the Legion Auxiliary and Hospital Auxiliary. Robert died October 15, 1974, and Ing died January 19, 1975, leaving Myrtle alone. She continued living in their home, in the midst of a caring neighborhood, who did much for her. She moved to the Jack Lynner home December 3, 1979. On July 13, 1981, she entered the Clarkfield Care Center, where she passed away January 24, 1983. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Lynner; three grandchildren, Robert Ecklund, wife and three children, Sarah Elizabeth, twins Joshua Robert and Morgan Marie; Roblyn Elaine and husband John Ruggles; and Brian Alan, all of Cuyhoga Falls, Ohio; a sister Mrs. Hazel Thro of St. Paul, Minnesota; and four nieces as well as many Lynner family relatives. Blessed be her memory among us. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
