Myrtle E. Haugen, 87, died at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, on October 28, 1987. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 1987, from the Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township with Pastor Robert Lehner officiating. Organist was Stefanie Rysdahl with vocal music by Ross and Kayann Riecke. Casket Bearers were Marlo Hoff, Henry Jacobson, John and Richard Josephson, Lyle Olien and Lloyd Sunde. Final Resting Place is the Spring Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was born in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on February 21, 1900. Her parents were Iver and Olina (Langseth) Haugen, who lived on a farm south of Clarkfield. About 1926 the family moved to Clarkfield where they resided the rest of their lives. She attended business college in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but spent most of her life living with and caring for her parents. She was a member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church, the Friendship Mission Circle and the Sons of Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ida (Mrs. Oswald Haaland) and a nephew Robert Haaland. She is survived by several cousins and many friends.
