Murvel Ruby (Long) Loomis was born at Clarkfield, Minnesota on April 2, 1918 to parents Andrew and Millie (Reed) Long. She was baptized and later confirmed at the Clarkfield United Methodist Church. Murvel attended Country School District #45. Murvel and Everette Loomis were married on April 8, 1936 at Clarkfield, Minnesota. They made their home in Clarkfield, where Murvel worked at the Clarkfield School and at local cafes. She also was a Dietary Aid at the Clarkfield Care Center. Murvel was a faithful member of the Clarkfield United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Methodist Ladies Aid, of which she was treasurer for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, Carems and especially enjoyed being with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Murvel passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, August 13, 1997 at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 12 days. She is survived by her husband Everette, of Clarkfield and her brother Boyd Long of rural Clarkfield. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and families. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Jacquline Fayette; and brothers Melville and Orville Long and sisters Pearl Ernst and Devota Walls. Blessed be her memory.
