Mons A. Halvorson was born in Okland, Norway, on January 20, 1889, the son of Halvor Hanson and Herborg Halvorson. He was baptized and confirmed at Austevold's Church. He came to America in 1909 and made his home in Clarkfield where he lived until his death August 20, 1964. He was employed at the Clarkfield Roller Mills until he started work on the railroad in 1917. He retired in 1955. On June 5, 1915, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Olson, whom he had become acquainted with in Norway. Mr. Halvorson passed away August 20, 1964, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital at the age of 75 years. Mons and his two brothers, Hans Okland of Montevideo and Nels Halvorson of Clarkfield, were the only members of the family who came to America. Both preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF MONS A.
