Mollie Reimestad, the daughter of Andrew and Julia (Hellickson) Anderson was born in Vallers Township, Lyon County, Minnesota, on January 22, 1884. She was baptized at the St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on March 16, 1884, by Rev. Knute Thorstenson and confirmed in the same church by Rev. Martin Romstad in 1897. She lived most of her life in Vallers Township and in Normania Township, west of Cottonwood, Minnesota, in Yellow Medicine County. She was united in marriage to Carl Reimestad of Cottonwood on March 5, 1905, by Rev. Martin Romstad at St. Lucas Lutheran Church. Two daughters, Viola and Delora, and one son were born to this union. Mollie Reimestad shared her husband's occupation of farming until his retirement in 1956 when she took up residence in Hanley Falls. During the past eight years, she has made her home with her daughter, Delora, at Osage, Minnesota. On the afternoon of October 4, 1966, she suffered a stroke and passed from this life at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, and her daughter, Viola Sharkey. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Delora Broughton of Osage, Minnesota; two sisters: Mrs. Allie Miller of Marshall, Minnesota, and Lillie Anderson of Cottonwood, Minnesota; two brothers: Albert Hovdesven of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and Fred Anderson of Cottonwood, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Harold and William Sharkey and Calvin Broughton; and five great grandchildren.
