Minnie Oline Stueland was born October 24, 1880, in Thor, Iowa, and passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, on August 4, 1950, at the age of 69 years, nine months and 11 days. She was the daughter of Toris and Eli Kathrina (Knutson) Mickelson. She was baptized, received Christian instruction and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was married to Hans J. Stueland on October 23, 1898. To this union nine children were born. In 1913 they moved to Boyd, Minnesota, and four years later to the present location on a farm east of Clarkfield. She is survived by six sons: Arthur of Clarkfield, Clifford of Aurora, Minnesota, Harold of East Moline, Illinois, Richard of Clarkfield, Earl of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and Edwin of Dubuque, Iowa; two daughters: Ruby (Mrs. Henry Oxtra) of Granite Falls, and Evelyn (Mrs. Harlan Kruger) of Clarkfield. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, three brothers: Christian T. Mickelson of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Thomas C. Mickelson of Humboldt, Iowa, and Percy E. Mickelson of Fargo, North Dakota; two sisters: Mrs. Henry H. Knutson of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Mrs. Arthur Nessa of Thor, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son, Reuben. Mrs. Stueland was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church and had a life membership in the Bergen Ladies Aid.
