IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Minnie (Rogge)
Biel
December 16, 1868 – December 16, 1868
Minnie Biel was born in Bromberg, province of Posen, in Germany, on December 16, 1868, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Kienath) Rogge. She, together with her parents and others of the family, came to America in 1871 and settled in the city of Chicago. There the family resided for about fifteen years before moving to western Minnesota. She, however, remained in Chicago and a short time later was united in marriage to Gustav Fritsche of Chicago. To this union, one son, Walter, was born. Mr. Fritsche died in 1909. Some time later, Minnie was united in marriage to Mr. Albert Biel. One daughter, Minerva blessed this union. Mr. Biel died in 1921. She remained in Chicago until 1945 when she moved to Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Laechelt, and has resided with them since that time. In December of 1955, she fell on the ice and broke her hip. Since then she has been in the hospital. Death came Thursday morning, October 25, 1956, at the age of 87 years, ten months and nine days. Mouning her death are the children, Walter Fritsche and August Biel of Chicago and Mrs. Minerva Laechelt of Boyd, Minnesota. There are also eight grandchildren besides two sisters, Mrs. Martin Schlee and Miss Emma Rogge of Clarkfield and one brother, Mr. Ed Rogge of Clarkfield.
