Obituary

Mrs. Minerva Biel Lachelt was born on January 16, 1912, at Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Rogge) Biel. She was baptized on April 2, 1912, at St. Paul's Church in Chicago and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, on April 21, 1933, by Rev. Louis Rosin. She attended grade school and later graduated from Hawthorne High School in Chicago. She was then employed at Coyne Electrical School as a switch board operator. It was in 1931 that she came to Minnesota. Minerva married Mr. Otto H. Lachelt on March 19, 1933. This wedding took place at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Louis Rosin. A son, Raymond, was born to the couple. Otto and Minerva were engaged in farming and she also worked at Swift and Company in Marshall, Minnesota, for a number of years. Mrs. Lachelt was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, August Biel; step-brother, Walter Fritshe; sisters-in-law, Alice Biel and Hattie Fritshe; and one nephew, Clyde Biel. She is survived by husband Otto and son Raymond, both of rural Clarkfield, Minnesota. Minerva and Otto celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1983. Minerva was a member of Zion Lutheran's L.W.M.L.
