Milton Swenson was born January 4, 1903, in Hazel Run Township to John and Bergit (Dahly) Swenson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls. After completing grade school, he went to Jamestown, North Dakota, where he worked for one year as farm boss at the state hospital and also on masonry work for some time until the death of his father in 1921, when he went back home to farm. In 1932 he entered the Service and was discharged in 1943. He was a member of the American Legion of Granite Falls. He again continued farming with his brother Ole until Ole's death in 1975. Milton spent his retirement years refinishing furniture and also took a great interest in antiques. He entered the Clarkfield Hospital in August where he spent some time. He passed away October 5, 1977, at his Sandnes Township farm home at the age of 74. He is survived by his sister Esther Swenson of Hazel Run Township; and two nieces: Vivian (Mrs. Edwin) Wandersee, and Iona (Mrs. Donald) Larson both of Audubon, Minnesota; besides a number of cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
