Obituary

Milton James Hanson was born to the parents Henry and Martha (Jurgenson) Hanson on May 26, 1918, in Friendship Township on the farm east of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church on July 12, 1918, and confirmed in the same church on May 7, 1933. He attended school in Clarkfield and graduated with the class of 1936. He furthered his education at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. After graduation, he held teaching and coaching positions at Walker, Minnesota, Spring Valley, Wisconsin, and Dodge Center, Minnesota. He was a star athlete while in high school. In the prime of his life, he suffered a nervous breakdown. He lived at St. Peter up till 1967 when he moved to Willmar, Minnesota, where he departed this life suddenly on May 7, 1970, as a result of a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. He leaves to mourn his passing, two sisters and five brothers, namely: Theodore of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Margaret (Mrs. Charles Berdeen) of Minneapolis, Helen Williams of Watson, Minnesota, Alton of Clarkfield, Henry of Niles, Michigan, Sidney of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Virgil of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; beside a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
