Milo Leroy Moen was born on March 14, 1929, in Ten Mile Lake Township to James and Myrtle (Lusk) Moen. He was baptized and confirmed in Baxter Church. He went to country school in District 30 and graduated from Boyd High School. He was united in marriage to Marvell Estling on December 19, 1946. They lived on the farm in Lac qui Parle County until 2008 when they moved to Dawson. After farming for 40 years, they did taping, texturing and painting jobs. Milo enjoyed playing cards, shaking dice and having coffee at the local coffee shops. He also enjoyed square dancing, playing softball and time at the lake with family and friends. He was an active member with the Minnesota Valley Antique and Power Association. He enjoyed working and spending time at Heritage Hill. He served on the Lac qui Parle Soil & Water Conservation Board and at time of passing was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. Milo passed away peacefully at 2:15 am Sunday, July 28th, 2013, at the Johnson Memorial Nursing Home in Dawson, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Marvell; four children: Dianne (Donavan) Wiegers, Doug (Jo) Moen, Lon (Sue) Moen, Wendy (Jeff) Nieuwbeerta; eight grandchildren: Cheri (Jeff) Panitzke, Jana (Chad) Erickson, Tara Moen, Josh (Allison) Moen, Zack Moen, Chelsey (Matthew) Robertson, J.J. Nieuwbeerta and Jeremy Nieuwbeerta; nine great grandchildren: Caden, Makena and Alex Panitzke, Austin, Macy, and Lexi Moen, Addi Moen, Rhylee Nieuwbeerta and Hunter Robertson; one sister, Janice (Vernel) Hermanson; nephews; one aunt and several cousins.
