Obituary

Milfred E. (Bud) Rupp was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on February 3, 1932. He spent his childhood on his grandparents' farm and attended school in Granite Falls, graduating with the senior class of 1949. He was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith. He spent four years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict serving in active duty on the destroyer USS Hymann. After his discharge on December 2, 1953, he returned to the Granite Falls community and started farming with his grandfather, Herman Rupp, and uncle Glen Rupp. In 1957, he went into partnership with the latter, when his grandfather retired. Bud spent his winter months working in Minneapolis, where he met his wife. On November 19, 1960, he and Agnes Lynch of Centuria, Wisconsin, were united in marriage at St. Patrick's Church by Father Norbert Groene. One son, Mark Alan, was born to this union. Bud passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 30, 1963, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 30 years. He had attended services at Cottonwood Sunday morning and was taken ill enroute home. He entered the hospital about one o'clock and remained conscious until his passing at 4:20 p.m. Left to mourn his departure are his wife, Agnes, and son, Mark Alan, age 16 months; his mother, Mildred; one sister, Carol, and one brother, Clair; his grandfather, Herman Rupp; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
