Milford Ordean Olson, 75, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 1989, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 1989, from the Clarkfiefd Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Officiating were Pastor Gordon A. Trelstad and Pastor Jay Norman. Organist was Karen Donner. Solo music for the services were provided by Michelle Roder and by Sean David Doyl. Serving as Casket Bearers were Ordell Akre, Glenn Dahl, Wayne Hanson, Cliff Johnson, Curtis Torgerson and Bill Weinhold. Interment was at the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota Milford Ordean Olson was born September 27, 1913, to Oscar and Bertha (Hanson) Olson on a farm west of Clarkfield. He spent his early years in the Clarkfield and Boyd, Minnesota areas. Later, with his parents, he moved to Montevideo where he worked as a helper in the bakery. They later moved to Bird Island where they lived until Milford, along with his father, purchased the bakery in Clarkfield in 1932. On June 25, 1939 Milford married Gertrude Harwick of Madison, Minnesota. They had one daughter, Linda. The Olsons operated the bakery until 1973 when they sold it to Cliff Johnson. Milford enjoyed his hobby of driving and racing harness horses. He pursued this hobby until 1984 when his health began to fail. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Clarkfield; son-in- law and daughter, Leon and Linda Roder of Clarkfield; four grandchildren, Deon and his wife Debbie, Gary, Michelle and Rochelle Roder.
