Mildred I. Olson, 96, of Clara City, Minnesota, died January 2, 2003, at the Clara City Nursing Home in Clara City. Her funeral service was held January 7, 2003, at Granite Falls Lutheran Church, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Mildred Olson was born February 25, 1906, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Olai and Anna (Anderson) Kittelson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Clarkfield, Minnesota. Mildred and George Olson of Hazel Run, Minnesota, were married on September 11, 1929. They made their home in Hazel Run where they were members of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church and Mildred sang in the choir. Mildred also sang in the church choir in Clarkfield. She worked for the Post Office in Hazel Run and later in Clarkfield. In 1948 they moved to Granite Falls where she worked at Granite Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide and of R.S.V.P. Mildred became a resident of the Clara City Care Center in August of 2000. She is survived by nephew Dennis Kittelson Sr. of Shakopee, Minnesota; niece Lois Darrington of New London, Minnesota, and several cousins. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 1957; and a brother.
