Mildred Estella Hamre was born September 20, 1906, on the Lambert homestead near Lyons, South Dakota. Her parents were Andrew and Grace (Lambert) Hamre. She received her high school diploma at Lyons, South Dakota, and graduated from South Dakota State at Brookings, South Dakota, where she majored in Home Economics. She taught in this field for a greater part of her life, having taught in many schools, three of those years in Clarkfield. She was married to Harold Hanson of Clarkfield in 1940 at a country church near Dell Rapids, South Dakota. The couple set up housekeeping at the Lambert homestead where she was born. She taught in several schools near there throughout the years. The couple moved to Minnesota in 1952. She taught at Annandale and Adams, moving to Clarkfield in 1955. Her last four and a half years were spent at the Clarkfield Care Center, where she and her husband resided. She passed away there on Sunday, September 19, 1971, at the age of 65 years. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Harold; two children: Harold Hanson, Jr. and Imogene Hanson Weinhold; seven grandchildren: Jody, June, Jean and Kimberly Hanson, and William Jr., Kellie and Peggie Weinhold; two sisters: Mrs. C.J. Delbridge of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. Richard Shrader of Denver, Colorado. IN MEMORY OF MRS. HAROLD M.
