Obituary

Mildred VanDewater was born in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, May 30, 1896, to parents James and Mathilda (Wallington) Boyes. After graduating from school, she entered nurse's training at Barre, Vermont. In 1928 she was confirmed into the Episcopal Church and sent as a missionary nurse to the interior of Alaska. On June 20, 1932, she married Master/Sgt. Kenneth A. VanDewater. They had two children: Sally (Mrs. Ramon Olson) Hanley Falls and William VanDewater of Texas. She had seven grandchildren. Mrs. VanDewater was a nurse at the Clarkfield Hospital for 12 years. She was a resident at the Clarkfield Care Center the past two years. She died May 8, 1972, at the Clarkfield Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
