Mike Lundin was born on June 4, 1974, at Meeker Co. Hospital in Litchfield, MN. He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church, Cosmos, MN and confirmed on November 23, 1986 at Israel Lutheran Church, rural Clarkfield. With his mom at age 5, he married into the Schweer family, who welcomed him with open arms. As he grew, he developed a quick mind, a natural and unique athletic ability, and a warm, winning personality which were his most endearing attributes throughout his too brief life. Mike was a true sportsman, active in baseball and basketball. He took more joy and pride from his teammates' achievements than from his own individual excellence. He enjoyed golfing and hunting with his Grandpa George, his uncles, cousins and friends. He also enjoyed teasing his sister, brothers and many cousins, but was also their supportive protector. Mike did well in school, was liked by teachers and students alike and was involved in many activities. He enlisted in the National Guard after his graduation from GFC in 1992. Upon completing his basic training and advanced individual training in communications, Mike enrolled in VCSU in Valley City, ND, where he was studying at the time of his sad and tragic death. Because of you, his friends and family, Mike knew he was deeply loved. Because we knew Mike, he will be forever missed.
