Michael "Mike" Jorgenson was born on January 28, 1960, in Clarkfield, to Dennis and Beulah (Mikelson) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and attended Clarkfield High School, graduating with the class of 1978. On May 9, 1981, Mike married Barb Viessman and the couple went on to have three children: Trent, Stephanie, and Zachery.

Mike was a tried-and-true farmer, wholly devoted to his craft, which his always dirty hats were a testament to—he could nearly always be found driving around surveying his crops. A true Minnesotan, he made a ritual out of going to the lake as much as he could; pontoon rides, watching the sunset over the lake while sitting by the fire, and watching his grandchildren grow up on the same lake he did. He embraced all Minnesota sports, being especially fond of the Gophers, Twins, and Vikings. Like any typical small-town Minnesotan, he also loved bingo and playing buck euchre, and trips away to warmer states like Florida. Elton John was rumored to be one of Mike's biggest fans, or maybe it was the other way around, and he developed a later in life fascination with the gameshow the "Price is Right." He cherished his dogs, but even more so, his family and grandchildren and he loved being an active basketball coach for his sons.

Mike passed away at his home in Clarkfield on Thursday, August 8th, surrounded by many loving family and friends, at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Beulah; sisters, Kelly Mandour and Debbie Miller, and brothers-in-law, Micky and Terry Viessman.

Mike will be loved and remembered by his wife of 43 years, Barb; children, Trent (Nicole), Stephanie, and Zachery (Ashley) Jorgenson; grandchildren, Taylen, Addyson, Harper, Shae, Beckett, Milly, and Piper; sister, Denise (Jim) Potter; brother-in-law, Dennis (Linda) Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Kosbab, Wayne (Angie) Viessman, Doug (Darlene) Viessman, Randy (Cindi) Viessman, David (Lorrie) Viessman, Annette Viessman, Sandy (Gary) Nelson, Alan Viessman, Sandy Viessman, and Rod Viessman; special friends, Steve and Mary Helgeson and Christopher Hanson; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs, Ben and Tucker.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 10 AM at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, followed by the memorial service at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a local food shelf of the donor's choice.
