Meda Avery was born August 30, 1905, to Ralph and Lena (Sawtella) Simpson in Dixmont, Maine. She was baptized and confirmed in the Dixmont Methodist Church. On May 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to George Hersey Avery. She passed away February 22, 1977, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 71. Meda moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 1949 and to Boyd, Minnesota, in 1963 where she lived at the time of her death. She is survived by an adopted daughter, Annis Zietlow of Boyd; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two sisters: Mildred and Maize of Maine. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, five brothers and two sisters.
