Mavis Friberg, 59, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Thursday, March 14, 1985, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 1985, at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield with Pator Ralph Belin officiating. Karen Donner was the organist with special music by David Rupp. Casket Bearers were Dale Berg, John Knutson, Norman Knutson, Ralph Knutson, Charles Ley and John W. Sturgeon. Final Resting Place is the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Astoria, South Dakota. She was born August 3, 1925, to Clarence and Clara (Hanson) Solem of rural Astoria. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Astoria. On June 7, 1980, she and Herman Friberg were married. She is survived by husband Herman; daughter, Marilyn (Olson) Thomas; son-in-law, Richard Thomas; and grandson Jared - all stationed in Germany; sister-in-law, Joyce Solem of Huron, South Dakota; niece, Jody Ley and husband Charles and two children of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; aunt and uncle, Oscar and Cara Trooien; and Myrtle Hanson of St. Paul, Minnesota; plus several cousins.
