Maurice LeRoy Oakland was born June 2, 1926, to Lars and Maye (Anderson) Oakland at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1943. He then entered the U. S. Navy and served until 1946. On June 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Anderson. To this union two daughters, Diane (Mrs. Jerry Holien) and Darlys (Mrs. Keith Listul) were born. He lived and farmed in Swede Prairie Township until 1969 when the family moved to Clarkfield where he was employed by the Postal Service. He passed away October 29, 1981, following a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Phyllis; daughter Diane Holien and husband, Jerry of Maynard, Minnesota; and daughter Darlys Listul and husband, Keith of Clarkfield; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Eric and Melissa Holien; two sisters, Vivian (Mrs. Sidney Knutson) of Minneota, Minnesota, and Marlys (Mrs. Jack Londgren) of Clarkfield; four brothers, Juell, Leonard, Virdell of Clarkfield and Lars of Hector, Minnesota; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley; one brother, Merlyn; and grandson, Kevin Listul. Blessed be his memory! IN MEMORY OF MAURICE L.
