IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mathilda (Eskillson)
Anderson
October 17, 1866 – October 17, 1866
Mathilda Anderson was born in Malmo, Sweden, on October 17, 1866, of the parents Joahn and Elna Eskilsson. She was baptized and confirmed in Malmo. In 1893, she came to America with her father and sister. Her father had planned to homestead here, where he had a sister, however, after residing here about three months, he decided to return to Sweden. Mathilda was united in marriage to August Anderson on April 6, 1896. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. Since the death of her husband on October 10, 1936, she made her home with her daughters in Minneapolis. On February 21, 1965, Elvilda, her second daughter, passed away and was interred in the Clarkfield cemetery. Mrs. Anderson and her husband were charter members of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church which was organized in Clarkfield on January 31, 1899. Rev. Bengtson was the pastor. She passed away December 15, 1966, at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis, at the age of 100 years. She entered the hospital following an accidental fall in her home on December 6 and submitted to surgery on the 8th from which she was getting along fine. Death was due to pneumonia. Her two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Left to mourn her departure are her children: Albin W. of Clarkfield, Oscar M. of Lafayette, California, Lillian A. Anderson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Frances J. Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
