Mathia Haugen Iverson was born April 26, 1865, in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, the daughter of Ole and Ragnild (Listul) Haugen. She died Monday, December 22, 1952, at the age of 87 years, seven months and 24 days. Mathia was baptized and confirmed in Norway, coming to this country in young womanhood. On June 8, 1887, she was united in marriage to Mr. Andrew Iverson and for nearly 50 years they made their home on the Iverson farm two miles east and one mile south of Clarkfield. Moving to Clarkfield, they spent their declining years in town. Mr. Iverson preceded his wife in death October 11, 1935. Nine children blessed this union, namely, Martin, Oscar and Emma (Mrs. Ralph Ness) of the Clarkfield community, Mrs. Mabel Moore of Detroit, Michigan, George of Minneapolis, and Carl of Willmar, Minnesota.
