Mathia Anderson was born October 10, 1871, at Ostre Gausdal, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, the daughter of Jon and Helene (Moller) Enkenhus. She was baptized and confirmed at Gausdals Hovid Kirke. In September 1893, she came to Cottonwood, Minnesota, to her uncles, Ole and Olaus Miller. On October 12, 1899, she was married to Andrew O. Anderson, who preceded her in death in 1945. She passed away Monday evening, June 30, 1958, at her Vallers Township, Lyon County, Minnesota home, 12 miles south and one mile west of Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years. She was a wheelchair patient for 25 years. She is survived by her children, Lillie and Fred, both living at home, and stepchildren, Albert Hovdesven of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Mrs. M.O. Miller of Marshall, Minnesota, and Mrs. C.J. Reimestad of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Tobias Enkenus of Cottonwood, Minnesota, Lauritz in Canada and Johanne and Hilde in Norway. IN MEMORY OF MRS. A. O.
