IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary (Eggan)
Wold
August 19, 1921 – October 30, 1996
Mary Wold was born in Anoka County, Minnesota on August 19, 1921 to Sivert and Martha Koksaether Eggan. At a young age, her family moved to south Minneapolis where she attended the Minneapolis Public Schools, graduating from Roosevelt High School. In 1948, following employment at the New Brighton Defense Plant and Land-O-Lakes Dairy, she was united in marriage to Archie S. Wold. Mary and Archie made their home on the family farm northeast of Boyd. Two children were born to this union: Stanley Ree and Richard Allen. Following Archie's death in 1995, Mary lived at Parkview Towers, Montevideo, where she celebrated her 75th birthday with family and many friends. Mary was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church, Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis. She was active in Bible Study and activities of the Women's Circles of St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Boyd, and (since 1957) Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, where she also served as Sunday School teacher, choir member, and memorials secretary. Her faith was a great source of strength to her in the face of many illnesses. Mary passed away on Wednesday morning, October 30, 1996 at the Hennepin County Medical Center at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 12 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband. Surviving her are her two sons: Stanley (and Mona) of Duluth, MN and Richard (and Lori) of Boyd MN. She is also survived by five grandchildren (Douglas, Mandy, Andrew, Kristin, and Matthew), her sister, Dorothy Nelson of Milaca, three nephews, cousins, and many friends. Blessed be her memory.
