Obituary

Mary Madge Quirk was born March 23, 1887, at Wall Lake, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth Quirk. She attended High School at Odebolt, Iowa and Morningside College at Sioux City, Iowa, and taught school for several years. She entered nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa, and after graduation practiced nursing in that city. On June 15, 1917, she was married to William Tricker of Ipswich, England. To this union were born five daughters: Elizabeth (Mrs. Earl Steinman) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Dorothy (Mrs. George Phalen) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Anita (Mrs. Malcolm McLean) of Garvin, Minnesota, Lillian (Mrs. Earl Ostlie) of Watson, Minnesota, and Ruth (Mrs. Duane Thompson) of Hazel Run, Minnesota. Madge Tricker was a member of the Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's organization. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U., the Clarkfield Study Club and the Eastern Star. She served on the Yellow Medicine County Fair Board for several years and worked with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She passed away September 1, 1973, at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital, at the age of 86 years. Her survivors other than her children are 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Eleanor Quirk, and one brother, Francis Quirk, both of Jefferson, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1949, two sisters and five brothers. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
